Tribhuwan Nagar, 11 Ghorai Dang, Jaycees marg How will my support help? This project has been proposed by a local community organisation hoping to develop a piece of currently disused land. They intend to regenerate the land by planting trees and flowers to create an area that can be used in the long-term as a place for community meetings, with a special focus on environmental issues. They intend to involve local schools to help maintain the land and get the school children involved in activities such as gardening and bird watching, as well as environmental awareness-raising activities. The project will serve an important social function, bringing the community together towards this shared goal of improving their local environment as well as providing a space for community activities. Families living close to the area have offered to help with the initial development of the land and they also intend to contribute towards the ongoing maintenance. Cost Breakdown All items are bought in Nepal; to reduce costs and to support the local economy. All costs are therefore given in Nepalese Rupees.
