This is a communiity library in Dang that is used by students livingin the local area

How will my support help?

This library is managed by the local community and is used regularly by the local school children. The Library Management Committee has chosen to set up Awareness Programmes for the students that will cover education, the environment and development issues. In order to provide this service, the library needs the use of a slide projector to deliver the information in a cost effective and accessible format. They plan to run the educational slide shows once a week and hope that the addition of the slide projector will help attract students to the talks. Your support with this project will provide a valuable resource for the library and help educate students on a number of important issues that are affecting their community.

All items are bought in Nepal; to reduce costs and to support the local economy. All costs are therefore given in Nepalese Rupees. JustAid is currently using an exchange rate of £1 = 120 Nepalese Rupees. This rate is slightly lower than the Banks because it allows for fluctuation in the rates

Project Implementation costs = 3500 NRS
Local bank charges to receive funds = 350 NRS

"The challenge is to provide the up and coming generation with the awareness, abilities and mental strength they need to take responsibility for their own lives, and to make their contribution to society. This is a true challenge for development." (UNESCO, Senegal Conference, July 2001)
