Books and furniture for a school library

Ref:  241

Where is this project needed?

Ilam, East Nepal,

Who needs help with this?

Adarsha Higher Secondary School, Ilam

How will my support help?

1,928 students are currently studying at this school. Adarsha is the only government funded secondary school in Ilam, and in order to continue their education, many students have to walk from their village to the main town. The number of students has doubled in the last year, following recent political developments. With so many students, and very little money, the school lacks resources. The library is intended as a space for study, but it needs books and furniture. Your support for this project will help to improve the learning environment for both students and teachers.

Cost Breakdown

Education is a fundamental human right. It provides children, youth and adults with the power to reflect, make choices and enjoy a better life. It breaks the cycle of poverty and is a key ingredient in economic and social development. (www.unesco.org)
