| Who we are |
| |
The JustAid Board of Trustees has eleven members. The board is responsible for the 'good governance' of JustAid and all members are committed to the organisation's core aims and values. Board members were selected for their individual skill sets, knowledge and experience. The varied competencies they bring ensure that JustAid operates to the highest standards in all areas. The day-to-day running of JustAid is carried out by volunteers and managed by Jodie Hawkey, the Chairperson.

Board of Trustees |
| |
| Jodie Hawkey, Chairperson |
Jodie graduated from Edinburgh University with an MA in Psychology. She spent two years in Vietnam working for a children's charity where she helped develop, and subsequently coordinated a social and medical project. This project allowed Jodie hands on experience, working with marginalised children and their families, and also with some of the most dedicated local staff. Having returned from Vietnam, Jodie began work on JustAid, which started it's life as a flicker of an idea that she instinctively felt deserved further development. The motivation behind JustAid came from her first hand experiences in Vietnam where she had seen time and again, that it was the Vietnamese people themselves who best understood the needs of their own community. She also came to understand more fully the psychological impact of enabling choice for individuals; both for the people being helped, as well as for donors wishing to help. Jodie believes wholeheartedly in approaching things in the most upfront and honest way possible. JustAid is therefore able account for every penny, and also every decision made. Jodie feels that JustAid addresses the need for choice, accountabilty and community empowerment to help in the most positive way. |
